Not only was this one of the prettiest rooms in Munich, it was one of the most musically satisfying ones. I hadn’t previously spent time with any of the components in this signal path, but that did nothing to dispel my awe, and respect for what was being achieved sonically in this set up. There was a sky’s worth of air, and space around upper-register piano notes, cymbals, and high-hat snaps. The midrange was textured, and stringed instruments in particular were fleshed out with weight, and sinew to every chord, and fret being worked.

Supremely musical, with clarity, pitch accuracy, infused with deep tonal colours, and a palpable, muscular sound signature, this system made it difficult to sit, and listen as you felt compelled by the tunes to move about the room, and become part of the performance.
Also in the room were a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 802 D3s in a color that I have ever seen in North America. They were matte white with a graphite grey horn, and they looked hot! Definitely a color combination that you should consider if you are in the market for a pair of B&Ws.
First of all the room and especially the new Enigma Veyron-4 speakers sounded damn good. Airy, open and coherent like never before. System consisted of Kharma’s own amplification and cables with a little help from some friends, namely a top of the line Clearaudio Statement turntable and the complete dCS Vivaldi digital front end. Yes, I know what you’re thinking, this is a 650.000 whatevers system, it has to sound exceptionally well but you would never guess how many 500K+ systems sound so-so in Munich.
